They share a common mission is to bring sustainable development throughout Africa by leveraging the incredible power of sports through their 63 social and sports programs for their communities.

Last week was filled with excitement and inspiration as ESSEC Business School in Rabat received the esteemed cohort of the African Sports Changemakers Program, they embarked on a journey to explore the intersection of sports and entrepreneurship, fostering innovation and teamwork.

ESSEC Business School Africa, as the academic partner of this exceptional initiative, provided a dynamic platform for these young visionaries to exchange ideas, gain insights, and nurture their passion for sports and positive social impact.

The visit kicked off with a powerful team-building session, where the changemakers from diverse African nations formed deep connections and established a strong support network.

Sports have a unique ability to bring people together, breaking down barriers and fostering collaboration – and that’s exactly what happened here during the activities.

In the spirit of innovation, an insightful entrepreneurship workshop was organized, empowering the changemakers with the knowledge and skills needed to transform their groundbreaking ideas into sustainable ventures. From identifying market opportunities to developing strategic plans, the workshop equipped them with the tools necessary to create lasting change in their communities.

ESSEC Business School Africa provided world-class faculty members who shared their expertise in sports management, marketing, and finance, offering invaluable guidance to these aspiring sports changemakers. “Driving sustainable change using sport as a vehicle in the African continent” is the vision carried by Tibu Africa and its academic partner ESSEC Africa who will be the lead on the pedagogical engineering and technical content creation for the pan-African program “63 African Sports Changemakers“, a new program initiated by the NGO Tibu Africa and with the support of several actors of the ecosystem at the continental and international level.

“The signing of this partnership agreement with ESSEC Africa is part of our global vision: to become the locomotive of sport for development in Africa by 2030. I am delighted that we will be able to offer the young beneficiaries of the Pan-African program “63 African Sports Changemakers” training that will equip them with the 21st-century skills necessary to create integrated programs in their countries while positioning sport as an institutional and identity necessity in their countries.

We are looking forward to the start of the first learning expedition on the ESSEC Africa campus with the presence of 63 young leaders from the 54 countries of the African continent,” said Mohamed Amine Zariat, President of the NGO Tibu Africa.

Tibu Africa’s expertise in designing social solutions and socio-economic inclusion of youth and women through sport, combined with that of ESSEC Africa in entrepreneurship and social innovation, will ensure quality support to the beneficiaries of the pan-African program.

By signing this partnership agreement, ESSEC Africa and the NGO Tibu Africa reaffirm their determination to unleash the potential of young people and demonstrate the strength of their commitment on the continent within the framework of the implementation and success of the Pan-African 63 African Sports Changemakers program

The program, which is focused on developing and empowering young sports changemakers from across Africa, will be presented to a diverse audience of international exchange and public diplomacy professionals, supporters from government agencies, the private sector, and nonprofit organizations.

The Pan-African 63 African Sports Changemaker program is a unique initiative that aims to use sports as a tool for social change in Africa. The program provides young people with the skills and resources they need to create positive change in their communities through sports, while also promoting leadership and teamwork skills.

The program is run by a team of experienced sports professionals, mentors, and academic partners, who are going to work closely with the young sports changemakers to help them develop their skills and realize their potential.

The Global Ties U.S. National Meeting 2023, which brings together a diverse group of international exchange and public diplomacy professionals, is the perfect platform for the Pan-African 63 African Sports Changemaker program to showcase its work and connect with potential supporters and partners.
